Did you know Hay is slang for "small money".

Well then let's say hello to Hay, the neo banco looking to enter the ever-growing digital Aussie banking space.

Source: Hay

So what's special about Hay? Well, here are my views on what makes it different

  1. Really good & clean UX - with well-thought-out design, colours and beautiful data visluations, the UX is pretty impressive

  2. Money insights - showing where your money is going in and out with real-time push notifications and detailed spending including merchant logos, location on maps and spend category.

  3. Automatic travel mode - this I think is a really cool feature - Hay claims the app will automatically switch to the overseas mode when you are outside Australia and will display balances in the Aussie dollar as well as the local currency.

Hay has also has a waitlist for its first 10,000 users who will be given the status of 'Founders'.

Now that's very cool

The only problem, it will only initially launch with a prepaid Visa card until it gets its full banking license.
